Managing the endodontic needs of the elderly patient entails considerable amount of modification, as compared to that of younger patients. This lecture aims to provide a general overview of the said considerations and familiarize dentists on how to efficiently perform RCT on the elderly.

Endodontics in a Paediatric Population

The 2018 National Survey on Oral Health of the Department of Health found that 85.2% of Filipino children aged five years old have dental caries. Given that 40% of the Philippine population is below 18 years of age, safe and effective management of infected teeth can help maintain a child’s smile long into adulthood. This presentation will detail how to accurately diagnose pulp necrosis in children, identify when to use CBCT, when to extract or perform endodontics, and how to prevent hypochlorite extrusion.
